Three generations of an Abayudaya family – mother, daughter, and granddaughter. Men and women in the Abayudaya community, like in so many traditional societies, often have different tasks – men working in the fields or at a job to make money for the family, women working to maintain the house and raise the children. The dynamic may be changing as the rising generation of Abayudaya women includes several girls who want to attend university.
